Joanne
is privileged to lead Corporate Culture at WestJet Airlines – having
been a student of culture since her first job training police officers.
Since then, she has contributed in the capacity of corporate trainer and
spent time as a business owner and consultant; promoting the importance
of corporate culture and guest experience.
Corporate culture is the magic that drives business success; through
attraction, retention and engagement. Working with every WestJetter,
from day-one frontline employees to the executive leadership team,
Joanne advocates for sustainable corporate culture – and that starts
with people. By winning the hearts and minds of people, WestJet has
steadily increased domestic market share to 37% from a standing start 14
short years ago. In that time, WestJet has experienced significant
shift in the industry, the environment and the workforce – keeping the
airline busy staying ahead of those changes in order to innovate, grow
and succeed. It’s about embracing the change.
Today,
Joanne will share the WestJet story and a few of the winning strategic
philosophies that have led to WestJet capturing the title of Canada’s
Most Admired Corporate Culture four years in a row.
When she isn’t immersed in all things WestJet, Joanne spends as much
time as possible playing outdoors and marvelling at her best-ever
teacher, her eleven-year old daughter. |
